About me

👋 Hey! I’m Max Hualop, product designer at Yape, the app half of Peru uses to send money. Online, people know me as UI Developer.

Today my role is Design System Tools: I build the tools that help our team design and ship with the design system, from Figma plugins to the code that keeps it all in sync.

About the name: “Hualop” doesn’t come from a dictionary. It’s my dad’s last name and my mom’s, blended into one word. Two families, one signature. It’s also the best summary of what I do: mixing design and code until you can’t tell where one ends and the other begins.

After hours I keep cooking: Android icon packs, an iOS app for LUTs and the odd Figma plugin. Building my own tools is how I keep learning.
